Google Business Profile

Your competitor shows up on Google Maps. You don't.

Shepard Consulting sets up and manages Google Business Profiles for contractors, trades, and local service businesses. We handle verification, categories, service lists, photos, weekly posts, and review replies, and we keep the profile matched to your website so Google and AI assistants describe your business the same way you do. Based in Broomfield, Colorado.

Everything happens by email. Replies within 24 hours from matt@shepardconsulting.ai.

What is actually going on

Somebody two miles from your shop typed your trade into their phone this morning. Three businesses came up with a map pin, a phone number, and a row of stars. They called one of those three.

Most owners I talk to have a profile they claimed years ago and never touched. Wrong hours, one blurry photo of a truck, no services listed, reviews sitting there with no reply. Google reads all of that as a business that might not be open.

Google also retired the public Q&A section on profiles in late 2025. Questions people ask in Maps now get answered by Google AI, which reads your profile, your reviews, and your website. If those three disagree, the answer about your business is a guess.

What is included

  • Setup and verification

A new profile, or a claimed one that stalled. I take it through Google verification, including service-area setups where the owner works from home and the street address stays hidden.

  • Categories and services

Primary and secondary categories picked for the searches you actually want, plus a full service list written in the words customers type. Each service points at a matching page on your site.

  • Photos and weekly posts

Real job photos added on a schedule and a post every week, so the profile never looks abandoned.

  • A reply on every review

Good, bad, or three words long, every review gets an answer. This is also sold on its own as the review reply service.

  • A monthly report in plain English

Calls, direction requests, website clicks, and the searches that found you. One email, no dashboard to learn.

Three steps, all by email

  1. Send me your business name and city

I look at your profile, your top local competitors, and your website, then email back what is missing. No meeting needed.

  2. Add me as a Manager

Manager access, not Owner. You keep ownership of the profile the whole time and can remove me with one click.

  3. I fix it, then keep it current

The cleanup happens first. After that the profile gets attention every week instead of once every few years.

Where this has already been proven

I set up and manage the profiles for my own companies first. Same checklist, same weekly routine, same service-area setup with a hidden home address. Whatever I recommend for yours is already running on mine.

I am Matt Shepard, a licensed general contractor in Colorado and the owner of Shepard Consulting. Every system I sell is one I run in my own businesses. Read the case studies.

Google Business Profile Setup and Management: questions people ask

How much does Google Business Profile management cost?

It depends on how many locations you have and how much cleanup the profile needs. Send a message with your business name and city and I will reply with a quote by email.

Do I lose ownership of my Google Business Profile?

No. You stay the Primary Owner. I work as a Manager, which lets me edit, post, and reply to reviews but not transfer or delete the profile.

How long until my business shows up in the map results?

Verification takes anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on the method Google assigns. Ranking depends on your category, how close the searcher is, and your reviews, so nobody can honestly promise a position. What I control is that the profile is complete, accurate, and active.

I work from home. Will my address show on Google?

No. A service-area business can hide its street address and list the cities it serves instead. That is how my own profile is set up.

Do you work with businesses outside Colorado?

Yes. The work is done online and by email. I am in Broomfield, Colorado, and the process is the same anywhere in the United States.
