What is actually going on

A lot of contractor websites are a home page, a gallery, and a contact form. Every service the company sells is crammed into one paragraph. Google cannot tell what the business wants to be found for, so it guesses, and it usually guesses wrong.

Then there is the stuff nobody sees until it costs them. No privacy policy. A form that texts people without asking. A site a screen reader cannot get through.

  1. Send me your current site, or the fact that you do not have one

    I reply by email with what I would build, a page list, and a quote with a delivery date.

  2. You send photos and answer questions

    The timeline mostly depends on this step. I write the pages from your answers and real job photos.

  3. Launch, then hand over the keys

    The code lives in a repository in your name and the domain stays registered to you.

This site is the sample. Everything on the list above is running on the page you are reading, including the accessibility statement in the footer and the assessment form on the home page. I built it and I maintain it.

Website Design and Development: questions people ask

How much does a contractor website cost?

It depends on the number of service pages and whether you need writing and photography help. Send a message with your current site or a description of the business and I will reply with a quote by email.

How long does it take to build?

It depends mostly on how fast photos and answers come back from you. I put a delivery date in the quote.

Do I own the website when it is done?

Yes. The code lives in a repository in your name, the domain stays registered to you, and nothing is locked to a proprietary builder.

Can you fix my existing site instead of rebuilding it?

Sometimes. I start with an audit of what is there. If the problems are content, schema, and accessibility, those can often be fixed in place. If the platform itself is the problem, I will say so.
